They currupt and destroy the happynes and joy there is in our world.

For many of us, gang violence seems like something that happens in other neighborhoods, in movies or on TV.it’s important to recognize how pervasive it really is, and how susceptible our kids and teens could be to the dangers.
Gang violence is not just limited to urban centers, to poverty or any particular ethnic group or race.
The statistics for gang violence is outrageous. Every day in America there is a various amount of teens dying. It is very sad to hear about, and even worse to be a family of a victim. The crime rate has risen through the times. Also the amount of teens sent to juvenile halls have been increased to. It is also believed that now even the small areas are being held as a location where the crimes are happening. The reason for that maybe that the criminals from the large areas (after being released or trying to avoid bein arrested) must relocate and go to the small areas. This then leads to more trouble which soon follows. Also another cause maybe that the ones doing the crime aren't too afraid of their punishment anymore. They feel as if the crime is worth doing what they may consider a short amount of time, therefore the punishments are harsh enough. -Shawn Antoine-

The boys and girls club has reached out to youth to help prevent gang violnece. It helps get kids off the street and now they will be inloveved in something else other then hangning on the streets which lead to joinging gangs and causing harm. This is a program that helps prevent gang violence even before it happends, so the kids would have never even been in that life. If they are this helps them stop. In the past years they have expanded their youth groups and has been more affective. The kids they target are those whom come from a childhood where they dont have a back round that communicate much and show a display of bad behavior in kindergarten.
